SUPPORTBASE GIVES TO THE NEEDY...Credit Yaw Geraldo

WHATSAPP FORUM “SUPPORT BASE” GIVES TO THE NEEDY.

The most powerful moment in life is when you are able to identify the need of a living soul and satisfy such need.

The bible emphatically says that there is more blessing in giving than receiving. The power in building every society is sharing the knowledge and wisdom that one has acquired.
Every society that has had great chance to taste wealth with others looking at their interest is when the heart of giving becomes the Centre of growth. When the rich gives to the poor, it is seen as a life changing moment for the poor soul that becomes an indelible mark in the heart of the poor.
The only favour the poor can return to the rich is showering the blessings of God and sometimes working with all his /her strength, but when the rich gives to the rich it seen as a favour that will set pace for a common ground.
All my life from infancy , I have always asked God to give me a heart of peace when giving to expect nothing in return but the guidance of the GRACE. I joined WhatsApp Forum called SUPPORT BASE somewhere July 2015, and the sole purpose was to develop one’s self through special topics for members on the page.

Though sometimes you will find the differences of people sidetracking the purpose, it is same time understandable that such things happen where two or more people stay at same place for a while. The group was born out of STRONG ROOM FOR TRUTH AND JUSTICE (STAJ) which is also a WhatsApp forum.

As part of the one-year celebration the leaders of the forum through the planning committee and the members decided to show case its love for the needy. The group last week did a fantastic job by donating items worth thousands to an orphanage called WEEP NOT CHILD FOUNDATION, located at Ahwediase in Nsawam.

“SUPPORT BASE” A non-profitable group that has its mission to provide assistance to its members, through spiritual means, physical donation and other social interventions.

Our vision is “To be the best social group in Ghana and beyond”

After the donation the group, (SUPPORT BASE) had fun time with the kids and then proceeded to the classrooms to mentor the children.
The mentorship period revealed how closely if more help is sent to these children they will be very close to their dreams as some wanted to be; Lawyers, Architects, Soldiers, Police, Footballers etc.

MENTORING CLASSES GOING ON,YAW GERALDO,PRINCESS                                                 TITI,SHERLOCK,NAAB,FAUSTINA,PATRICIA AND MAME BRONI.

Some of the members of Support Base bought handmade African slippers, artistic African beads and other products made by the orphanage.Support Base members admonished civil society groups to partner the owners of these orphanages to shape the dreams of the children and help integrate them into society for a better nation building.
The orphanage also expressed its profound gratitude to members and prayed for a more successful life for the members. This done by this prominent page, is my wish it continues to propagate and catapult the blessings received to the less privileges and needy one way or the other .
I humbly and whole heartfelt admire what the group did and entirely contribution and participation by members as well,
May God bless us all
Long live Support Base

"I'll Be Different From Mahama." - Akuffo Addo Assures Ghanaians

The 2016 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is assuring Ghanaians that a vote for him in this year’s elections will mean a complete departure from “the failed policies” of the Mahama government.

Nana Addo opined Mahama and his appointees have brought untold hardships and suffering to the Ghanaian people.

“My approach is going to be different from that of John Mahama. It is not going to be tax, borrow and spend. My priority will be to reduce the cost of doing business to help small scale enterprises grow, and to make the Ghanaian economy become globally competitive,” he said.

To this end, the NPP flagbearer has stressed that his government will provide tax incentives to businesses across the country so as to increase their productivity.

“We are opposed to government measures that cripple businesses and cause unemployment. My intention is to reduce corporate tax rate, abolish VAT on Financial Services, remove duties on the importation of raw materials and manufacturing equipment, amongst other fiscal incentives, to stimulate growth of the private sector,” he indicated.

Nana Akufo-Addo was speaking at a fundraising dinner in London, organised by the UK branch of the Young Executive Forum of the NPP.

According to the NPP flagbearer, despite all the desperate spins the Mahama government is putting on its period in office, “we know that Ghana is not in a good place. We have an opportunity this year, in peace and dignity, to put her in a better place.”

Citing the nation’s declining growth in agriculture, which according to the 2016 budget was 0.04% in 2015, he noted that for all the protestations of government apologists, Ghana is importing plantain and onions from neighbouring countries, daring those who do not believe him to go to Techiman, Sunyani and Kumasi markets, amongst others, to find out the truth for themselves.

“When Kufuor left office in 2009, the food import bill of Ghana was $600 million. Today, it is $1.5 billion. Our industry is in decline, growing at 9%, whereas it was growing by 15% in Kufuor’s last year in office. Manufacturing is at -2% growth, mining is -3.8% growth. Bank lending rates are 33% and above in Ghana. Inflation, as at April 2016, is at 18.7%. Unemployment is rampant and widespread,” he said.

Continuing, he indicated that “business failures are unheralded. Electricity tariffs are beyond the ordinary household budget and destroying many businesses. Cost of living is astronomically high for the ordinary Ghanaian. Our people are having a difficult time, as their living conditions continue to deteriorate. All this is a direct result of the mismanagement, incompetence and corruption of the Mahama government.”

More confusion in government
With the Minister for Finance, Seth Terkper, and President John Mahama issued conflicting directives on the taxation of allowances and pensions, Nana Akufo-Addo stated that the recent events surrounding the commissioning of the Komenda Sugar Factory is enough testament of how Ghana is being run to the ground by a clueless government.

The NPP flagbearer recounted how last week, amidst great fanfare, the President commissioned the Komenda Sugar Factory, “with very lofty objectives, including treading in the footsteps of the legendary Kwame Nkrumah”, only for Central Regional Minister, Kweku Ricketts Hagan, two days later, to announce that the factory had been closed down for maintenance, in order for the factory to operate properly.

Again, five days later, on 7th June, the Director of Communications of the Trade Ministry, Nana Akrasi-Sarpong, rejected reports that the facility was shut down two days after it was commissioned by President Mahama, going on to assure that a producer price of GH¢90 per ton of sugarcane had been agreed with the farmers.

“Two days later, on the 9th of June, the Minister for Trade and Industry himself, Dr. Ekow Spio Garbrah, absolved management of the Komenda Sugar Factory of any blame in the quick shutdown

I won’t react to little boys and girls attributing me to quotes – Mugabe

President Mugabe

Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe has said he is unperturbed by some funny quotes attributed to him, and making rounds on social media platforms, particularly in Ghana.

The veteran politician has recently become the butt of jokes in the West African country as Whatsapp platforms are awash with facetious assertions purportedly coming from him. The nonagenarian has stressed he will not react to those hilarious comments because he is above that.

Among the popular flippant quotes circulating on Whatsapp platforms include:

“If Ghanaians were smart, they would have moved the Akosombo Dam to Circle,” Mugabe, live on Peace FM.

“Even Satan was not gay, he chose to approach naked Eve instead of naked Adam,” Mugabe.

“And to those of you who do not actually go to church but watch it on TV, you will not actually go to Heaven, but you will be allowed to watch it on TV! – Robert Mugabe

“Simbox fraud two years… goat thief seven years… whatever you want to do in life go to school first,” Robert Mugabe 2016.

The Zimbawean High commissioner to Ghana Mrs. Pavelyn Tenclai Musaka said her 92-year-old president is aware of the fake quotes, but will not respond to those trivial pronouncements.

“I don’t get worried,” Musaka told Accra-based Joy FM. “What actually strikes me is that I get surprised this is actually coming from African journalists. As far as I’m concerned if Africans don’t respect another African head of state, I don’t know who else will respect him.”

She opined: “I will engage the Ghanaian and African media to start respecting their own. Charity begins at home. The leaders in this job are the media and they can correct it.”

Musaka pointed out that Africa’s longest serving president will not “react to little boys and girls” because he is a “statesman.”

However, she mentioned the ZANU–PF leader “is not offended” because he is “above that… He is there to fight giants like the Tony Blairs of this world and not those little boys and girls.”
